Dreamland

I have problems sleeping now.

I used to have some slight problems sleeping but they were intermittent.
At 7 months pregnant, though, sleep isn't necessarily expected to be easy.

The nasal strips, the wrist braces, and the body pillow SORT OF help.  But not really.
Most mornings, I wake up feeling groggy and like I only got about four hours of sleep even though I'm typically in bed attempting to sleep for about 8 or 9 a night.

I've also always had very vivid dreams.  Pregnancy has only enhanced them.
Last night, I had a dream about Stephen Thomas.  Nothing incredibly exciting.  It was just like a glimpse into what an afternoon would be like with him (although believe me, I realize it'll probably be a little more hectic than Dreamland).

I was just sitting in my rocking chair while he slept in my arms.
His eyes were the same color as Eric's.

And for the first time in a long time, I woke up refreshed and well-rested.

Strawberry Cream Cheese Muffins

It's getting harder to move now.

That's totally expected though, right?
I'm in my third trimester with Stephen and he's definitely a growing boy.

Have I mentioned how much I love my stand mixer?

Seriously, she's a life saver.
Especially now that the carpal tunnel in my arm is making my right hand numb and tingly periodically throughout the day.

Never fear.  The carpal tunnel is allegedly temporary and just a symptom of pregnancy.

I happen to be one of those pregnant women who get the weird random symptoms.

Unlike my counterparts who suffer from heart burn and leg cramps every night (I've only had one)...
I have headaches on a regular basis and this weird form of carpal tunnel in my right arm.

It's just obnoxious symptoms that I have.  Nothing dangerous and nothing painful.

And in those moments when I might...nay, definitely...dislike pregnancy, something happens.
Stephen kicks me hard enough to make my skin move.

Or he has a bout of hiccups.
I place my hand on my belly and he begins moving right under it, almost like he's trying to reach out and touch me.

It's those moments that thrill me, make me want to cry a little, and up the anxiety that I feel for his arrival.

Update

Things have been a little busy around here for us.  I'm hoping that one day I'll be able to get into a groove of posting, like my friend Char-char, but there are some things that I have to catch up on around the house before I can really get into a groove with this blog.

I realize that's lame.
In the meantime, here's what's up in the land o' Lees.

  • I'm busy trying to finish up my child psych class. I have roughly about a month to finish up two more lessons and take the final test.  I don't doubt that I'll be able to do that...I just have to do it.
  • Today was my virtual baby shower!  It was so fun being able to talk to friends and family!  Thanks bunches to the hostesses, Cassie and Charlotte.
  • Stephen is growing quickly and is still very active.  I'm in the process of making ring stackers for him and once those are complete, I will move on to making onesies and a quilt as well.
  • Ruthie is coming to visit in a week and I'm SO excited to see her!!!  We are going to a comedy club, a painting class, a baseball game AND the Stanley hotel while she's here.  It's going to be a jam packed week and I can't wait!
  • I've recently taken on the organizer position with my pregnancy group so I'm wracking my brain for fun activities for myself and the gals to do together.

Other than that, life is carrying on as normal around here.

Sur La Table

I'm in love with Sur la Table and have been for years now.

What's not to love about a store devoted to cooking?
Three-Tiered Hanging Basket
It's hard to stay away.
Walking past the store is a struggle for me.
Ramekin, 10 oz
Even if I already own items that they have in the store, I feel like the ones that they have are so much better than whatever I have.

Breville Panini Duo Press
Everyone needs more than one mixer right?

Okay maybe not more than one...
KitchenAid Ravioli Attachment
But everyone needs a pasta attachment...

Especially a ravioli attachment so that the next time they try to make ravioli at home, they don't have to have a failed attempt trying to make it with lasagna noodles (it doesn't work).

Suggestions anyone?

I had this brilliant idea that I was going to turn one of Eric's work shirts into a maternity shirt.

There's one minor problem.
\
That super fancy circle and arrow indicate a strange yellow stain on the shirt.

I originally planned on stitching on vertical strips of lace but then realized the lace I have isn't made for that (too intricate/it'll fray/it hates me/etc).

I'm at a loss now.  I'd really love to be able to finish this so I can wear it.
So, anyone have any ideas?
